Mykonos, a cosmopolitan Greek Island


Mykonos
is a popular tourist destination in Greece. This greek island which is known to have a sophisticated and cosmopolitan mood and character and is also very famous for its very lively and active nightlife said to be one of the best in Europe. Mykonos is believed to have gotten its name from a local hero who is supposedly an offspring of the Greek god Apollo and was worshipped locally in antiquity. Mykonos boasts of its stunning sandy beaches, white washed roads, tavernas, museums and its architectural landmarks. Popular places to visit while in Mykonos are Aegean Maritime Museum, Archaeological Museum, Delos, Folklore Museum, Little Venice, Mykonos Windmills, Paraportiani, and Petros the Pelican.
